‘Betul betul betul’. When I said this words, I know you all will remember Upin & Ipin’s cartoon. I choose Upin & Ipin’s cartoon because this cartoon is relate to Ethnics Relations subject. Upin & Ipin is a Malaysian television series of short animation in village life of twins who live with their elder sister, Kak Ros and their grandmother in Kg. Durian Runtuh. I have 3 reasons why I choose this cartoon. First is Upin &Ipin ‘s cartoon has friendship in different races, second is respect in religions and third is unity.

For the first point,Upin & Ipin’s cartoon has a friendship in different races. In this cartoon, there have 3 races: Malay, Chinese and Indian. Upin& ipin have many friends in different races in young age, 5 years old. Their Chinese friend is Meimei, Indian’s friend is Jarjit and their Malay’s friends are Ehsan, Fizi and Mail. They always playing together and studying in the same school,Taska Mesra.

For the second point is respect in religions. Although Upin & Ipin only 5 years old, but they are fasting 1 month in Ramadhan. 1 day, when they have finished playing with Meimei, Meimei did not force them to drink together and she reminds them that they are fasting and she respect them fasting. When Muslim celebrates Hari Raya, Jarjit and Meimei celebrate it together.

The third point is unity. Upin & Ipin and his friends always unity and doing together in many things. For example, they are united in ‘Kami 1 Malaysia’ episode, they are united to paint Tok Dalang’s house together for celebrating Independent’s Day.

In conclusion, I will recall back 3 reason why I choose Upin &Ipin cartoon. First, this cartoon has friendship in different races, second is respect in religion and the third point is unity.

Assalamualaikum and a very good day to our beloved teacher, Mr Ahmad Ibrahim and my fellow friends. I want to share with all of you about the video that I watch. This video is about three good friends that have participated in car invention competition. The three good friends are from Malay, Chinese and Indian. They work really hard in order to achieve success. In this video also shows the kindness of these friends toward someone that facing hardship in life. Besides there also a little conflict they have with other participants. From my point of view, I can get three moral values in this video. The moral values are teamwork, helping each other and forgive and forget. All of these disregard the different races.

Proceed with my first point which is teamwork. They all are doing their best in creating and modeling a car that will make them winning this competition. Giving ideas and cooperate with each other without discrimination based on skin color and so on. Due to that, they have won the competition. All the effort they have given towards the competition is paid.

Secondly, helping each other. In this video, the Malay and Chinese are willingly to help their Indian’s father after seeing the hardship of the family. From there the Malay have an idea to create a car. After having discussion with other two friends, they have decided to build up a truck or transport that can make ‘ais kacang’ easy and faster. The transport is made especially to Indian’s father in lighten up the burden. From this, we can see both Malay and Chinese are not racists.

My third point is forgiving and forgets. Their opponent which is Malay finally asks forgiveness from the three friends after been advised by his father. That boy always making fun and teasing the Chinese and also always underestimate their group’s ability. After that, they all become friends. From there, we can see that we do not have to feel shy to ask forgiveness although they are different races from us. In fact, it will lead us in living harmony and peacefully.

In conclusion, this video really gives good moral values that we can follow. But to follow them, it is up to you to make the choice. Recall back my three points which are teamwork, helping each other and forgive and forget. Lastly, just think it wisely before making your decision. Thank you for listening.

Change Our Habits - Transform Our Life

Watch your thoughts, they become your words,
Watch your words, they become your actions,
Watch your actions, they become your habits,
Watch your habits, they become your attitude,
What your attitude, they become your destiny.

Why we put the quote above? I have learn it today. Read, understand and think.
Change our bad habits, transform our life to become more better!

In surah Ar-Ra'd(13:11):

meaning:For each person has guardians before him and behind him, who watch over him by Allah's command. The fact is that Allah does not change a people's lot unless they themselves change their own characteristics: and when Allah decides to bring about retribution to a people, none can ward it off, nor can they find any defender or helper against Allah.

What can we conclude is that God does not change the destiny of a people as long as we do not want to change it. We ourselves can change ourselves, not others.

Warisan-Anak kecil main api

hi!! meet again on our new post, just want to share a song lyric with you guys,
Enjoy it!

Anak kecil main api
Terbakar hatinya yang sepi
Air mata darah bercampur keringat
Bumi dipijak milik orang

Nenek moyang kaya raya
Tergadai seluruh harta benda
Akibat sengketa sesamalah kita
Cinta lenyap diarus zaman

Indahnya bumi kita ini
Warisan berkurun lamanya
Hasil mengalir ketangan yang lain
Peribumi merintih sendiri

Masa depan sungguh kelam
Kan lenyap peristiwa semalam
Tertutuplah hati terkunci mati
Maruah peribadi dah hilang

Kini kita cuma tinggal kuasa
Yang akan menentukan bangsa
Bersatulah hati bersama berbakti
Pulih kembali harga diri

Kita sudah tiada masa
Majulah dengan maha perkasa
Janganlah terlalai teruskan usaha
Melayukan gagah dinusantara

Multi-racial Malaysia

I have been asked "What is the meaning of a multi-racial Malaysia to me?"

Being multi-racial does not mean the same thing to every multi-racial country e.g. Singapore claims to be multi-racial but basically it is a predominantly Chinese State.

Because of the refusal of the descendants of migrants from China and India to be assimilated by the indigenous people we have to accept the retention of the identity of Malaysian citizens of Chinese and Indian origin. The people of Indonesian origin chose to be assimilated by the indigenous people, so they don't constitute a separate entity.

Multi-racial countries are usually unstable. Racial conflicts occur frequently. If Malaysia is to avoid racial conflicts it must try to reduce the differences between the different races.

We cannot change ethnicity. So we have to accept the ethnic differences. Religious differences also cannot be changed.

However, various aspects of the cultures can be made common. Chinese food in Malaysia reflect the influence of Malay and Indian tastes. We can celebrate each other's festivals etc. etc.

But economic disparities pose a major problem. Yet this is one area where corrections can be made and can reduce tension in a multi-racial society.

If we care to look we would notice that even in a single ethnic country, disparities in wealth distribution lead to conflicts. The principal reason why the Socialist and Communist ideologies were formulated and then espoused by the working class is because of the extreme disparities of wealth between the workers and the employers. But Socialism and Communism tended to reduce economic growth, causing not only the rich to suffer but also the poor.

Trade Unions also tend to stunt economic growth, as they are often abused as for example the holding of nationwide strikes for political reasons.

These confrontations between workers and employers, basically between poor and rich, happens quite often even in single-ethnic countries.

Now if the workers and the poor are made up largely of one race in a multi-racial country and the employers are rich and are of another race, then class confrontation would be amplified by racial animosity. That was the basic situation in Malaysia pre-1969, and we know the results.

The Malay, Chinese and Indian leaders of that time agreed that the disparities in wealth between the races must be corrected. That is why we introduced the New Economic Policy which proposes to eliminate the identification of race with economic functions.

Unfortunately the affirmative action we have to undertake must result in discrimination against Chinese and Indians in favour of the Bumiputera. This caused resentment because even the economically prosperous race must have a fair number of poor members. These people will feel the discrimination more acutely.

Malaysian races are symbiotic and they really complement each other. Even though multi-racial Malaysia will still be ethnically multi-racial, Malaysia would remain relatively peaceful, capable of good economic growth and exhibit relative harmony between races if the leadership of the country understands this problem and knows how to manage.

That is as much as we can hope for since we are opposed to the adoption of a single mother tongue and culture and to dropping the identification with the countries our ancestors came from.

MALAYSIA A GOOD MODEL OF GOOD SOCIETAL RELATIONSHIP

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- Malaysia provides a good model of how society would be able to live with various ethnic groups on the basis of trust and efforts to foster good societal relationship among the various communities.

United Nations (UN) Under-Secretary General for Communications and Public Information Kiyotaka Akasaka said Malaysia's emphasis on education and mainstreaming youth issues as a fundamental of the national development agenda was also pertinent as the host of the second annual Global Model United Nations (GMUN 2010) Conference which began today.

"I know that Malaysia has various ethnic groups, Malays, Chinese and Indians are working and living in harmony and you have been keeping this harmonious society with great effort played by the government, civil society and the people at large.

"Malaysia will also be able to provide the best opportunity and lessons learned and the history to the students coming from all over the world to address the questions of alliance civilizations.

"Education is given top priority in this country, education indeed has been the important agenda for the UN, we have been focusing our efforts on our partnership with the young people for educational programme, through various initiatives," he told a press conference on GMUN 2010 here today.
